Oregon Home Magazine's 2025 Structure + Style Awards
Design With Refinement was honored with three nominations in Oregon Home Magazine's 2025 Structure + Style Awards, recognized across two categories, marking our second consecutive year of recognition from one of Oregon's most respected design awards programs.
Design by Design With Refinement
Oregon Home Magazine's Structure + Style Awards celebrate the best in building, remodeling, and design across the state. The awards are juried by working designers and architects, this year's panel included Garrison Hullinger of Studio Garrison, Jessica Dearinger of JD Designs, Molly Switzer of Molly N Switzer Designs, Chelly Wentworth of C Change Design, Amy Bright of Milan Stoneworks, and Emily Wu of Peony Architecture.
Being recognized once is meaningful. Being recognized three times in the same year by a panel of peers we deeply respect, was a moment we don't take for granted.
The three nominations
Our 2025 nominations spanned two categories:
Interior Design — Bath
Alameda powder room — a small Portland powder room transformed by Cole & Son's botanical wallpaper, brass fixtures, a rattan-framed mirror, and a vintage crystal door knob honoring the home's original character.
Fairmount bathroom — a thoughtful refresh balancing natural materials, layered textures, and considered lighting in a primary bath.
Interior Design — Other
Vancouver WA dining room — a dining space designed for both everyday meals and gatherings, anchored by character-rich furnishings and a layered, intentional approach to lighting and texture.
What ties them together
Looking across the three projects, what they share isn't an aesthetic as they range from moody and wallpapered to soft and natural. What they share is a way of working. American-made furniture. Local Portland makers. Estate sale finds with real character. Decisions made for longevity rather than trend.
That sourcing philosophy is the through line of every project at Design With Refinement and we're grateful when work rooted in those values is recognized by people who understand the craft.
Two years running
The 2025 nominations follow our first Structure + Style Awards recognition in the 2024 issue. Two consecutive years of recognition feels less like a fluke and more like a reflection of how the studio works — patiently, thoughtfully, and with sustainability built in from the start.
