In Fall 2024, Design With Refinement was nominated in Oregon Home Magazine's juried Structure + Style Awards, our first recognition from one of Oregon's longest-running design awards programs.
For nearly a decade, Oregon Home Magazine's Structure + Style Awards have spotlighted the best work in building, remodeling, and design across the state. The awards are juried — not chosen by editors based on what photographs well, but evaluated by a panel of working Oregon designers and architects.
To be recognized at all, on our first nomination, felt meaningful in a specific way. It wasn't a sponsored feature or an editorial pick. It was peer recognition.

A nomination for an "Interior Design — Other" project
Our 2024 nomination came in the Interior Design — Other category. The project recognized was a smaller-scale design, proof, in our view, that meaningful work doesn't always require a full renovation. Sometimes the most impactful design decisions are the ones that change how a room feels without changing what's around it.
That value of designing for real life, sourcing for longevity, and making the most of what's already there is what we hoped the recognition reflected.
